The Little Horn of Daniel 7

liitlehorn

This is from a Seventh Day Adventist source but it does agree with a Protestant view in its identification of the little horn as well as its understanding of the Daniel 2 statue and the Daniel 7 beasts:

The Little Horn

We need to build up to the little horn so that we can pinpoint where it came from and if it matches the antichrist system.  We start in Daniel 2 where Nebuchadnezzar has the dream of the statue of a man….. Daniel 2:31-33 ….’Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.’ ….. We know from history what kingdoms these metals were:

Head of Gold              (This was Babylon)                   612 – 539BC

Chest of Silver           (This was Medo-Persia)             539 – 331BC

Thighs of Brass          (This was Greece)                    331 – 168BC

Legs of Iron               (This was Rome)                      168BC – 476AD

Feet of Iron/Clay        (Divided Rome)                        476AD – present day

Daniel 2:34 ….’Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.’ ….. Let’s never forget Jesus in all of this.  Jesus is that rock which will come and break in pieces these earthly kingdoms when He returns at the second coming and sets up His everlasting kingdom.  The kingdoms of this earth are temporary, but the kingdom of God is eternal.  Praise God!
