The “Evangelical Ecumenical Magisterium”

Ali Cordero Casal self portrait with Mother Teresa, Calcutta, 1995

The emphasis for this EEM is ecumenical; as in syncretistic as well, where there seems to be a concerted effort to blend together various strains—their word is tribes—of Christendom.

We’re even seeing this extending to Roman Catholic apostates like the late Mother Teresa, who actually took her name out of her respect for so-called “Christian” mystic Teresa of Avila.

For example a few years ago EEM member Rick Warren, who captains the Southern Baptist flagship Saddleback Church, proudly tweeted the following information:

“TODAY–Mother Teresa was born 100yrs ago. TIME has a book on her great life & I wrote the forward:

Revelation 16:13-16:  And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

CS Lewis and the Pope

Screenshot (15)Many Protestants too, feel they can take a middle of the road approach in regards to the Pope. While they deny that his official teachings are infallible, and ignore papal directives to pray to Mary and the saints, and don’t believe in the Purgatory he preaches, they still revere him as a great Christian leader.

But if we take our lead from Lewis we see that the Pope doesn’t leave us with these sorts of options. He is either what he claims to be – the Church’s infallible guide – or he is a fool or, something worse. There isn’t any room for a middle ground.

Does the Bible Tell Us To Confess To a Priest?

James Japan on the Connection Between Daniel and Revelation

An interesting look at the connection between the books of Daniel and Revelation:

I believe that all the important Endtime prophecies in the Book of Daniel have their “mate” or similar verse in the Book of Revelation. What therefore is the key to understand the Endtime prophecies in the Book of Revelation? It’s to know the same prophecies in the Book of Daniel! The Scriptures from these two books of the Bible compliment each other.

Please note that The Antipas Chronicles holds to the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation, including household/infant baptism, and so disagrees with point #2 above.

Johnson ‘The Historical.’

Feileadh Mor

The Historical or Historicistjohnson method of interpreting Revelation:

“In my opinion this system is more nearly correct, and yet it needs to be modified by the others (Preterism and Futurism), and carefully guarded. It holds that a succession of historical events, future when John wrote but now in part in the past, are portrayed by a series of visions. The error must be avoided of supposing that the book is continuously historical from the beginning to the end. If it is borne in mind that there is more than one series of visions; that when one series ends another follows which is synchronous, at least in part; that a part of the events portrayed by symbols is not in the past, while another portion is in the future, I think the result of the Historical system will be found to be clear, harmonious, and surprisingly in correspondence with the visions…
